A Garden Party will be held over the coming weekend (9th and 10th November) in the grounds of the Historic Rockford home of Jane McLaren and Kym Milne - at 665 Strathalbyn Road, Mylor. The event is organised by Mylor Heritage Society as a fund raiser for its continuing work in and around Mylor. Other Mylor community groups will be involved as well, showing all, that a small town can put on a big event.
It will be a feast of the senses too, with many wonderful things to do, view, listen to, look at and enjoy. A big attraction will include a display of art by Kate McLaren, an entrant for the Fleurieu Art Prize, and The Mylor History Group will put on a display of Rockford' history. The programme of speakers, and music for each day is listed just to the right of this article.
So come along and stroll through the magnificent grounds, marvel at the majestic heritage listed trees, and, enjoy a treat of Art & Music, Stalls, Food & Wine for Lunch & Afternoon tea. Mylor Red Cross will be making sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee, the Mylor CFS will be running the BBQ, and Mylor Heritage Society will be serving fine wines, red, white, bubbly, beer, and softdrinks.
On Sunday there will be some examples of fine hand built British motor engineering on view. Think Worcestershire - Think MORGAN.
The garden party will be open from 10am to 4pm each day.

Progress on the restoration of the old Mylor Bootmaker’s Shop has been very good; we expect to have the job largely complete by May 2014. Right now we are all huddled over our home fires, and will remain so until the thaw starts in spring. The finishing touches yet to be made are:
- The walls - External walls have been rendered, and rendering internal walls and chimney will be started in spring. Barge boards and fascias have been fitted.
- The roof - James Henry Roofing (Hahndorf) has completed the roofing and the building is weatherproof at last!.
